UNILEVER LAUNCHES NEW MBA RECRUITMENT CHANNEL

Unilever, one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, aims to quadruple the number of MBA Business School graduates and alumni it recruits into live roles across its business over the next four years.

The global MBA recruitment channel has been launched to provide the company with the talent it will need to help meet Unilever’s ambition to double the size of its business while reducing its environmental impact.

It is the first time that Unilever has launched a formal global MBA recruitment channel where MBA Business School graduates and alumni will be hired into vacant roles.

At least 25 international management positions in Unilever’s marketing, supply chain and category teams are currently available for high-calibre MBA graduates and alumni for 2011. That number will increase incrementally to around 100 by 2014.

To meet this target, Unilever has partnered with 30 of the top MBA Business Schools around the world whose MBA alumni and graduates are given priority access to applying for the jobs available.

The investment reflects a shift in Unilever’s global talent acquisition strategy towards working more closely with the world’s best MBA Business Schools to boost its talent pipeline and ensure it is fit to win in an increasingly competitive and globalised market.

Unilever’s new global MBA recruitment channel is different to the majority of other companies because it is recruiting into live roles, instead of offering the traditional model whereby MBA graduates are placed on a career change programme.

Paul Maxin, Unilever's Global Resourcing Director said: “To achieve our vision of doubling the size of our business while reducing our environmental impact, it will be imperative that we recruit experienced, high calibre functional experts with an MBA, who have a global mindset and are already specialists in their field.”

“Our new global MBA recruitment channel will be absolutely crucial to delivering the talent we need to fulfil our growth ambition, and will also give MBA Business School alumni & graduates a fantastic opportunity to realise their personal goals too. Unilever is a business where talented individuals can go as far and as fast as their ambition and ability takes them."
